... But fancy-like.
Like this party.
And this wedding.
And this one.
Or this one. Which happens to have taken place at one of my favorite/ideal venues, but is located too far from Ventura to be reasonable. So picture something akin to this one, but in a much smaller and enclosed yard next to a small orchard, without all the open space and sky and mountains and gorgeousness. (sigh)
And all of these (although lord knows who some of those so-called "backyards" belong to, whooooo boy. I suppose even Oprah could throw a backyard wedding, right? Dang.

Like a big ole backyard party...

I have two thoughts, initially:
ReplyDelete1: Please, please, please, have the wedding you and Josh want, not what other people expect or mandate. Pick your favorite venue and if some people won't attend, their loss. I chatted with my parents about this and they whole-heartedly agree (they eloped to Africa, then threw a BBQ back home after they returned).
It is your and Josh's day, and it is your money. I can't say this enough.
2: Do you find any of these wedding sites stressful? They remind me of Design*Sponge which I could not visit anymore... everything is so carefully placed and photographed that it feels a little stifling personally.
It's good to get ideas from other people, but stay true to what you want. If it's kilts + farm + breaking the glass under the Chupah, so be it! It's your day!!! xo
